SPHL announces Roanoke Expansion Team

On October 20th, 2015 the Southern Professional Hockey League announced the move of the Mississippi Surge to Roanoke, VA, who will return to the ice for the 2016-2017.

At a press conference held this morning at the Berglund Center, which will be the home of the team, SPHL President Jim Combs confirmed the team will be in the league for next season.

No team logo, name, colors, or mascot has been released, but they will be revealing that on Thursday November 19th!

The SPHL just got their 9th Team this season the Macon Mayhem and now they are planning 10 teams for next season! There is rumors 2 more teams might be on the way (more on that in the next blog post). Could 10 Teams mean that there will be divisions?
